Woman saved after attempting suicide near Metekhi

A woman jumped into the river Mtkvari and tried to commit suicide on December 17, but fortunately, the rescue team of the Emergency Management Agency was already on the scene and she was taken out of the river soon.

Prior to the attempted suicide, a woman was talking about debts and financial problems for 15 minutes, which were the result of unemployment in her family.

According to the 34-year-old woman, she could not start a job anywhere. She noted that she could not find a job due to the fact that she is a supporter of the "United National Movement".

Some of the warnings of suicide may include excessive sadness, depression, recent trauma or life crisis, etc.

Crises may include divorce or break-up of a relationship, diagnosis of a major illness, loss of a job, or serious financial problems.

UNM member to leave Committee on Legal Issues

Member of the opposition party, the United National Movement, MP Salome Samadashvili, has decided to leave the Committee on Legal Issues and move to the Human Rights Committee.

According to Samadashvili, the opposition is not given the opportunity to work in the Committee on Legal Issues properly and there is no reason to remain in it.

"The head of the Legal Issues Committee, Eka Beselia does not give the opposition a possibility to run and participate in parliamentary activities.

I do not represent myself in the committee. I represent more than 800 thousand voters. Beselia does not allow the committee members to talk about important issues," she said.
