Tbilisi City Hall provides eco-friendly food dispensers, wooden houses for stray dogs

Tbilisi City hall has placed three eco-friendly food dispensers and a wooden house for stray dogs in the capital city.

Three food dispensers have been placed in Rike Park, Vere Garden and Kikvidze Park in central Tbilisi, while a wooden dog house is located in the Rike Part.

Tbilisi City Hall vows that at the first stage 10 such houses will be provided in different locations of Tbilisi.

If you put one 0,5 liter plastic bottle in the apparatus, it will dispense food for dogs. One can also pour water in the dispenser and dogs will be able to drink it.

The food dispensers can recycle the plastic and they use solar energy to work.

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated that three other such dispensers will be provided next year and the number of such devices will grow in the following years.

The idea belonged to one Tbilisi resident Giorgi Khavtasi, who sent his idea to Kaladze within the project “Your Idea for the Tbilisi Mayor.”

“A quite interesting and a kind project has been implemented. The dispensers have been tested and they work appropriately. I appeal to our citizens to provide more ideas and we will try our best to carry out the most interesting ones,” Kaladze said.

The idea has been implemented by the Animal Monitoring Department of the Tbilisi City Hall.
