Paintings of Georgian painter Niko Pisormani will be exhibited in Arles Museum of Modern art in the South of France.
Pirosmani’s work will be exhibited together with works of Vincent Van Gogh.
The exhibition is scheduled for March 2019.
According to the Georgian National Museum, negotiations are ongoing about the exposition organization details.
Niko Pirosmani’s art wanders between city and country, inns and stalls.
The Albertina Museum in Vienna is hosting the Pirosmani exhibition “A Wanderer Between Worlds”.
The exhibition features 29 paintings from the collection of Georgian National Museum Shalva Amiranashvili Museum of Fine Arts. The same 29 paintings will be on display in Arles.
The exhibition opened on October 26, 2018, and is available until January 27, 2019.
It was organized by the ALBERTINA Museum and Infinitart Foundation in collaboration with the Georgian National Museum and Fondation Vincent Van Gogh Arles.
The Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles presents various exhibitions throughout the year.
The goal of the Fondation is to provide a reference point for the life and work of Van Gogh, in the city in which he arrived at many of the defining images of his artistic career, and equally to invite contemporary artists and host various exhibitions to express their connection to the artist through their own creations.
