Performances at Movement Theatre

At the Movement Theatre stories are told with movement and music.
It is located in "Mushtaidi Garden" in the middle of Tbilisi and it was founded in 2001 by Kakha Bakuradze (Director and Actor).
Various plays, including Performance "The Tempest" by William Shakespeare, which was directed by Ioseb Bakuradze, take place every Thursday, Friday and weekends.
Performance of "The Tempest" is the synthesis of drama, pantomime and movement, which will take place on February 9 and it tells a story of Prospero, who is the rightful Duke of Milan. However, when Prospero's brother Antonio usurps the throne, Prospero escapes death simply by chance.
The duke finds himself on a lone island together with his daughter Miranda. The island is inhabited by the aerial spirit Ariel and the unsightly slave Caliban. Prospero learns sorcery and uses his powers to protect Miranda. One day, King Alonso of Naples' ship is caught in a tempest. The ship is caught under a great wave and destroyed. After the shipwreck, Antonio, Alonso, Prince Ferdinand of Naples and Trinculo are washed up on the shores of the island Prospero and Miranda are on.
The story of a murderer is another play: several murders by Jean-Baptiste Grenouille in the name of making perfect perfume. (A story based on Patrick Suskind “Perfume”).
Movement Theatre also offers the performance of “Igi”, which is the stage version of one of the remarkable stories written by Jemal Karchkhadze, the 20th-century Georgian publicist and writer, which tells the story of human evolution, from prehistoric times to the formation of personality and the fight with the environment and society since then.
Body language depicts the feelings that “Igi” might have sustained and for grasping the depth minimal narration is added.
The theatre also took part in New Year program and they presented a play Gamma at Tbilisi Mall at the end of December.
The actors are getting ready for an upcoming premiere of a play ‘Artistulesi’ in January.
The theatre represents the synthesis of drama, pantomime, movement and physical theatre, ballet, martial and circus arts, folklore, contemporary music, live music, tango evenings, jazz evenings, stand-ups, illusion, extreme shows, open-air and indoor performances.
