Member of European Georgia about Zurabishvili

Sergi Kapanadze, member of the political party - European Georgia, stated that the president of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili has no possibility of being a good president and has no team in order to do so.

He noted that she misuses important issues such as pardoning prisoners.

"You probably know that I am skeptical of Salome Zurabishvili as a president, of her attitude towards this institution. This was expressed not only with her steps, such as specific initiatives, her position in connection with the Supreme Court but also in how she deals with the most important issues, such as pardoning prisoners,” Kapanadze said.

Georgia elected ruling party candidate Salome Zurabishvili, the first female president of Georgia in 2018 presidential elections.

Ivanishvili offers Gedevan Popkhadze three options

Bidzina Ivanishvili, the chairman of the Georgian Dream coalition, offered Gedevan Popkhadze, a member of Georgian Parliament several options in case he wants to leave the party.

Ivanishvili addressed Popkhadze at a majority meeting held on February 6, that if he wants to leave the Georgian Dream, he can take his own initiative and if he wants to stay in the team he can stay and if he wants to be expelled, he will be.

Ivanishvili suggested to Popkhadze that he must make a choice between the three options on his own.

On the other hand, Gedevan Popkhadze refrained from confirming anything and stressed that he would not speak about the details of the majority meeting.

Popkhadze made a statement about leaving the ruling team several times.

The disagreement in the ruling party started earlier when Parliament voted for Ninia Kakabadze as a Georgian Public Broadcaster member of the board of trustees.

Popkhadze protested this decision of the team and threatened to leave the team.

In this case, the MP's protest is related to the issue of selection of judges of the Supreme Court.
