Giorgi Shvelidze the winner of ASC Spotlight Award

On February 9, 2019, the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) has announced the nominees for all categories of the 33rd Annual ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards. The winners were named at the awards gala at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland.

Georgian Cinematographer Giorgi Shvelidze was the first Georgian film professional to be nominated for the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) annual Outstanding Achievement Awards. Giorgi was competing for the prize with two other cinematographers Frank van den Eeden (Girl by Lukas Dhont) and Joshua James Richards (The Rider by Chloé Zhao) and became the winner of ASC Spotlight Award for the film “Namme” by Zaza Khalvashi.

The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) was celebrating 100th year anniversary of its founding and the ceremony was viewed by thousands of people.
