Photo exhibition ‘You and Your Goddess’ and central muse of the project Natia Bunturi

Irma Sharikadze, Georgian photographer and designer held a photo exhibition titled ‘You and Your Goddess’ on February 20th at café ‘PurPur’. The idea behind the project was finding and discovering an ideal woman within oneself.
The main inspiration behind the exhibition is a ballet dancer Natia Bunturi. “Natia is my beloved muse, I’m amazed by her talent” – says Sharikadze.
The exhibition was accompanied by astonishing performance from Natia Bunturi, enhanced by captivating music from Tamouna Mgaloblishvili’s band La Courbe Flottante.
Natia notes that working with Irma on the photo series was an escape from her usual rhythm, nevertheless into art, where she was still performing, but this time in a different setting.
“Irma and I have been working together since 2008. In both of our lives came a time, when the ideas of femininity are the most vital to us – peace and balance, with their complicated relationship with reality. Therefore the theme of the photoshoot was significant for me” -remarks Bunturi.
Natia is a lead soloist at Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet.
Her thought-out performance is enchanting and thrilling. While every inch of her body moves with the music, her intricate moves create a compelling story that mesmerizes the audience.
“It is a great pleasure to be a creator. I think I’m the most authentic version of myself in this profession. Ballet, for me, is the purest – inner, visual, mental state. In general, art is magical and this magic is exactly what creates the energy between us and the spectators. Managing to convey my ideas to the audience brings me joy” – says Natia.
Natia Bunturi also works as a teacher at Maka Makharadze Ballet Studio; she is correspondingly successful as an educator. A bright example of success, she shows her young students that hard work and dedication can result in harmony. Natia’s love and devotion to art make her the most suitable to make sure that young ballerinas are delighted to dance.
