PM: 40 ambulance centers and 100 outpatient clinics to build

Around 40 emergency rescue centers will be launched in Georgia this year, also over 100 outpatient healthcare facilities will be built and up to 300- renovated.

The information was released by Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze on February 26 prior to the Executive Government Meeting.

The PM noted that GEL 20 million has been allocated for the program that covers every municipality throughout the country.

Moreover, he said that the government has planned the implementation of special programs for the regions of the country with an aim of equitable development and delivery of essential services in regions of the country.

“Indispensable service rendering for decent health and living conditions of our citizens is a priority of our Government, which will never be diverted,” he underlined.

In addition, the PM said Action Plan for Environment and Healthcare will be drafted for 2018-2022 in the nearest future.

He underlined that protection of environment and development of Green Economy is one of the key priorities of the Government, adding all-inclusive approach and specific decisions need to be made on the topic.

“We will develop an Action Plan for Environment and Healthcare for 2018-2022 in the nearest future, considering the high priority of the issue, implementation of the plan will be supervised by a special Coordination Council, which is a consultative body of the Government of Georgia under my personal management. It will engage international organizations, experts and civil society,” said Bakhtadze.

Governmental Administration informs that the PM will issue specific instructions to the heads of public institutions engaged in the Coordination Council to carry out a nationwide situation analysis of drinking water supply and to develop an action plan towards this end.
