Rodin-Her Eternal Idol by the Eifman ballet will be opening Tbilisi Rhythm Fest 2019 on April 22, 23 at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theater.

“The French artist, Auguste Rodin sculpted with clay. The Russian choreographer Boris Eifman sculpts with bodies. Both are master craftsmen at their art and their differing styles have similarly produced memorable images of beauty and brilliance,” reads the description of the event.

Rodin, Her Eternal Idol is a creative study of the tragic path of a genius. By resorting to distinctive movements of modern psychological ballet, Boris Eifman offers a new interpretation of the world of human passions, masterfully portrayed by Rodin and Claudel.

Rodin premiered in 2011, explores the complicated love affair of two artists, sculptor Auguste Rodin, and his disciple, lover and Muse - Camille Claudel.

Boris Eifman is a Russian choreographer. He has done more than fifty ballet performances. Eifman was born in Siberia and graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory. In 1977 he founded the Leningrad Ballet Ensemble at the age of 30 and he remained there for over 35 years.

Eifman Ballet is touring to Georgia for the fourth time in 12 years
