“Georgia is one of the key and most stable partners of EBRD” claims the Regional Director of EBRD

"Georgia is one of the key and most stable partners of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)" noted Catarina Bjorlin Hansen, Regional Director of EBRD for the Caucasus at a meeting with Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia today.

Parties discussed the performance of EBRD in Georgia and its plans for the future at the meeting. Regional Director of EBRD expressed her gratitude to the Head of Government of Georgia for fruitful cooperation.

As Prime Minister of Georgia noted at the meeting, EBRD is one of the key partners of Georgia towards infrastructure development. Head of Government of Georgia stressed that two years ago EBRD was one of the prime international financial institutions that started to invest in the regions of the country and has led to tangible results of infrastructure development.

As Head of Government of Georgia noted at the meeting, the country plans to complete all the infrastructure projects in a few years and move towards new priority areas, such as education. Regional Director of EBRD noted that the international financial institution (IFI) stands ready to support Georgia in developing the infrastructure within the process of education system reform.

Meeting held at the Government Administration today was attended by Matteo Patrone, Managing Director of EBRD for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus. (gov.ge)



President meets with General Staff of Defense Forces

President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili held her first meeting with the General Staff of the Georgian Defense Forces earlier this afternoon- Administration of President reported.

The meeting was attended by General-Major Vladimir Chachibaia, First Deputy Chief of Defense Forces Colonel Nikoloz Janjghava, Deputy Chief of Georgian Defense Forces and Chief of General Staff General Zaza Chkhaidze and Deputy Commander of Georgian Defence Forces Brigadier General Shalva Jabakhidze.

During the meeting, the participants touched upon the issues related to the Defense Forces of Georgia and the main challenges facing the Defense Forces. President Salome Zurabishvili and the General Staff of the Defense Forces set joint steps regarding future plans. (1TV)
