Permanent representative to the United Nations to visit Georgia

Permanent representative to the United Nations of Finland, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Marshall Islands, Kingdom of Eswatini and Micronesia will be visiting Georgia on April 14-21.

Ambassadors will meet Prime Minister of Georgia, President of Georgia, as well as the Minister of Economy and representatives of Ministry for Reconciliation and Civic Equality in Georgia.

The ambassadors will visit the occupation line in Khurvaleti and the IDP settlement in Tserovani. As well as the Public Service Hall and the Soviet Occupation Museum.



US Embassy in Georgia celebrates the Mother Language day

The US Embassy in Georgia wished the citizens a happy Mother Language day on Facebook. The official page of the embassy posted a message along with a poem from a famous Georgian poet, Mukhran Machavariani.

“On April 14, 1978, thousands of people showed the Soviet regime an unprecedented resilience to keep the Georgian as the official state language. Happy Mother Language day!” – reads the post from the Embassy.

Since 1990, the Georgian Language Day has been celebrated on the 14th of April. Traditionally, each year on this day, various events are held near the Mother Language Monument in Tbilisi.



International dog show was held in Tbilisi

Tbilisi hosted an international dog show on April 14th. Ninety different breeds were showcased during the event. Most of the dogs were brought from different countries primarily for the show. The contest will have one winner in each breed, after which the jury will select the overall winner. One of the supporters of the event is the Tbilisi City Hall. The next international show will be held in Batumi in May.
