‘Rodin-Her Eternal Idol’ is a ballet by Boris Eifman is Tbilisi Rhythm Festival 2019’s headline.
The shows will take place at Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theater, 22 & 23 April.
Art Manager and Producer of Tbilisi Rhythm Festival, Ani Laghidze announced the Sold-Out Show a week before the actual performance.
Rodin premiered in 2011, explores the complicated love affair of two artists, sculptor Auguste Rodin, and his disciple, lover and Muse - Camille Claudel.
Boris Eifman is a Russian choreographer. He has done more than fifty ballet performances. Eifman was born in Siberia and graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory. In 1977 he founded the Leningrad Ballet Ensemble at the age of 30 and he remained there for over 35 years.
“The French artist, Auguste Rodin sculpted with clay. Russian choreographer, Boris Eifman sculpts with bodies. Both are master craftsmen at their art and their differing styles have similarly produced memorable images of beauty and brilliance,” reads the description of the event.
It is worth mentioning that all the tickets for the show have been sold out a week before the concert.
Ani Laghidze stated that the success of the show is not a result of promotion and advertisements of the event, but caused by the interest among the Georgian society.
She also noted that the vision for success, productivity, and organization made this happen, adding that ‘the society must be considered as best sponsors’.
