The manager of “Khiminj Service 2” arrested after the death of two workers

Land collapse on a construction site on March 31 on 5 Chavchavadze Avenue, resulted in the death of two workers.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs launched an investigation under article 240, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The manager of the “Khiminj Service 2” was arrested due to the violation of the safety rules.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the investigation determined that the work done by "Khiminij Service 2" was not in compliance with the regulations of the Government of Georgia on construction safety and various paragraphs of the resolutions were violated.

As of today, workplaces are monitored for health and safety violations by safety inspectors who can only make one visit to the workplace per year.



Explosions in Sri Lanka

The Embassy of Georgia in New Delhi has released a special statement about the terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka.

The statement says that the hotlines are open for 24 hours and Georgian Embassy is ready to provide help to those in need.

The 24-hour hotline also operates at the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, currently, there is no information if there were Georgian citizens injured in the explosions.

More than 200 people died in the explosions across Sri Lanka, almost 500 are injured.



The most Georgian citizens deported from Israel; Turkey

According to the statistics published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in March 2019, the most Georgian citizens were deported from Israel, followed by Turkey and Germany.

In March, 78 Georgian citizens were deported from Israel. The numbers in January and February were 82 and 81, respectively.

According to MIA, the second place goes to Turkey, with 67 citizens deported. Germany comes third, where 45 citizens were deported. Followed by Austria and France, with 21 and 14 citizens.

In March 2019, a total of 281 019 Georgian citizens went abroad. According to the ministry, the most visited country in the Schengen zone was Germany.

The number of Georgian citizens leaving for Germany was 6 056. Followed by Greece with 3 730 departures and Poland with 3 185.
