4GB, an annual international electronic music festival, is back for two weekends this year.
The events took place on 17-18 May and will comprise two more days next week (24-25 May).
The magical location with various stages is traditionally Center for Cosmic Constructions in Saguramo.
Various stages are presented for the visitors, offering different genres, such as Main Stage, Hip Hop Stage, Dorm Stage, and Outdoor Stage.
International and local musicians and DJs are performing at the festival.
Larry Heard performed on May 17. He is a Memphis, Tennessee-based DJ, record producer, and musician, widely known as an important figure in 1980s Chicago house music.
The lineup for May 24-25 includes Dave Clarke, Greenbeam & Leon, Bretschneider, Marvin & Guy, Jonathan Kaspar, Roman Flügel, Michael Mayer, Robag Wruhme, Hamatsuki, Toke, Gacha, Acid Pauli, etc.
The number of attendees increases every year. 4GB has become one of the most favorite events for students, due to its location, accessibility, decorations, and lineups.
It is worth mentioning that despite the growth, 4GB managed to maintain initial values and exclusivity.
The event is supported and funded by TBC Bank.
The annual electronic music festival is dedicated to the memory of the pioneer Georgian DJ - Gio Bakanidze.
Bakanidze launched Vodkast in 2010 as a web-based space for DJs and musicians. He was the main source of innovation in the art of DJing during the first years of development of a club scene in Georgia, through an experimental approach.
Nowadays, Vodkast Records unites three main directions: record shop, a podcast, and the label. Vodkast started as web-based space for DJs and musicians in Tbilisi. Before Gio's tragic death, six podcasts have been recorded by Georgian DJs posted as ‘oldies’. Vodkast was re-launched in 2011 by Gio’s friends through posting weekly mixes of local and foreign artists.
Since the very first year, 4GB was headlined by Gio's all-time favorite - Michael Mayer. He was the only visiting act in 2011, playing for 1000 people and he's been the closing act ever since - including last year when 4GB was shared by 36 acts and over 18.000 visitors.
