Last week, the members of Georgia-France friendship group of The National Assembly of France visited Georgia. The delegation included the chairperson of the group, Jean-René Cazeneuve; vice-chairs Mr. Pascal Bois and Pierre Vatin, as well as the secretary Jean-Luc Lagleize.
The visit aimed to deepen the relations with the colleagues from the Georgian Parliament and other people actively involved in the cooperation between the two countries. The delegation held meetings with the chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, several chairpersons of the parliamentary committees and the Georgia-French friendship group of the Parliament of Georgia.
The Ambassador of France to Georgia, HE Pascal Meunier, organized a reception at his residence in honor of the delegation visit. The guests had a chance to taste wines from two regions of Georgia, Kakheti and Imereti, from the companies that the Embassy cooperates with, Baia’s Wines and Lukasi, both of which are run by women.
Baia Abuladze established Baia’s Wines in 2015 at the age of 22. Two of her wines were presented at the reception: Tsolikauri 2018 and Tsitska-Tsolikouri-Krakhuna 2018, both made with the Georgian traditional Qvevri technology.
'Lukasi' is run by Keti Gersamia, which produces a limited number of bottles. Lukasi processes old Georgian grape varieties using new and original methods. Two of Lukasi wines were available for the guests at the reception: Usakhelouri 2015 and Saperavi 2014, both aged in oak barrels.
