Wednesday, May 22
National Geographic Magazine - Georgia and GIZ celebrate the International Day of Biological Diversity on May 22 and organize an exhibition and photo contest within the framework of the Museum Festival held by the Georgian National Museum.

The exhibition will take place at National Geographic Georgia Editorial Office.

The International Day for Biological Diversity is a United Nations-sanctioned international day for the promotion of biodiversity issues. It is currently held on May 22.

International days mostly serve the following purpose: to educate the public on issues of concern, to mobilize political will and resources to address global problems and to celebrate and reinforce the achievements of humanity.

Microphotographic images by Armen Seropian depicting urban biodiversity and selected shots of the Yourshot winter photo contest will be presented to our guests. Winners of the photo contest will be announced during the event.

The photo contest was held within the cooperation of the National Geographic Magazine - Georgia and GIZ.

"NG Georgia" is a non-profit and non-governmental organization established in 2012 and it aims at raising public awareness on natural, historical and social and economic sciences and technologies.

One of the most powerful ways to achieve the main goal of the organization is Georgian National Journal National Geographic, published by NG Georgia from October 2012.

The journal primarily contains articles about science, geography, history, and world culture.

In parallel to the magazine, the organization's objectives are to promote and implement specialized fundamental or applied specific research in geography, archaeology, history, biology, and other natural sciences in Georgia.
