Meidan Jazz Fest 2019

Jazz café Singer, located in a very heart of Tbilisi, organized and presented Meidan Jazz Festival 2019 on May 31-June 2.
The event was supported by the Singer Jazz Foundation.
Auditorium A. feat. Guja Mardini, Dini Virsaladze Quartet feat. David Japaridze & Kemo, Zura Ramishvili Trio, Zuka Simonishvili Quartet, Blue Moor, Reso Kiknadze Sextet feat. George Mel and others offered their performance.
The majority of the artists are students and professors of Tbilisi State Conservatoire.
George Melikishvili (a.k.a. George Mel) is a drummer, percussionist, composer. He is Tbilisi, Georgia born and New York City-based musician whose resume both as a sideman and a leader includes world’s most prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall and performances with luminaries such as Lionel Loueke, Esperanza Spalding, Mino Cinelu, Badal Roy, Avishai Cohen, Raul Midon, Leo Genovese, Dom Salvador, and many others.
Dini Virsaladze, a famous Georgian pianist, appeared before the audience as a jazz pianist and a composer for the first time in 1993. The same year she participated in Novosibirsk Jazz Festival that significantly changed the life of a young musician. She performed in numerous jazz clubs and cafés and appeared in various TV shows. She was an author and a host of a Jazz TV show on TV channel “Iberia” for some time.
The venue is located in one of the most attractive places for tourists, just a minute away from famous sights of Sioni church, Synagogue, Narikala, Europe park, etc.
Cafe Singer, with its cozy atmosphere, is an excellent place to spend the evening listening to live jazz. The great variety of dishes, friendly and welcoming staff, makes this spot one of the unique places in Tbilisi.
