Georgia exports 33.6 million wine bottles in January-May

33.6 million bottles of wine were exported from Georgia in January-May 2019 to 39 countries worldwide that is 6% higher than the similar data of 2018.
The information was released by the National Wine Agency (NWA) on June 3. The agency reports that the exported wine income amounted to $87 million, 16% more than the same period in 2018.
Wine export from Georgia in January-May increased to the strategic markets:
The USA - 126% (322835 bottles)
China - 27% (2972733)
Poland - 18% (1540182)
Export growth was observed in Israel - 72% (131,184), Belarus - 47% (680,906), France - 91% (46,254), Mongolia - 22% (106,452), Canada - 26% (76,860), Netherlands - 37% (40,930), Estonia - 33% (287,582)), Lithuania - 57% (270,564), Germany - 9% (274,721) and Russia- 5% (21372581).
Top five countries where the most part of the Georgian wine was exported in January-May are:

Ukraine (3,080,562)
China (2,972,733)
Poland (1,540,182)
Kazakhstan (1,223,256)
Among the exported Georgian wines, the largest quantity was Kindzmarauli – 6,047,911 bottles (increase 6%), Mukuzani – 1,957,553 (increase 20%), Tsinandali – 1,509,961 (increase 10%), Akhasheni – 638,878 (0%), Khvanchkara 402,802 (increase 43%).
Moreover, 10.7 million bottles of brandy were exported to 17 countries worldwide, 60% more than the same period in 2018. Exported brandy income amounted to $23 million (growth 67%).
Also, 216,5 thousand bottles of Chacha was exported to 19 countries worldwide, a growth amounting to 61%. Exported Chacha income amounted to $572,000.
In total, 203 companies exported Georgian wine abroad in January-May 2019.
As for January-April, twenty-six million bottles of wine were exported from Georgia to 38 countries worldwide.
