Yourshot Georgia, operating within the frames of National Geographic Georgia, is organizing the final event of the photo contest “Nature in Macro Lens.”
Winners of the photo contest will be announced during the event.
The event will take place on July 5 at Tbilisi Open Air Museum of Ethnography.
The photo contest was held within the cooperation of the National Geographic Magazine - Georgia and GIZ.
From May 31 to June 23, each participant had a chance to upload 3 photos.
Macro photography is one of the most popular activities in photography that allows us to revive the world around and see the details that are almost impossible to see. It also allows one to capture and analyze tiny subjects and creatures in details.
We often find it hard to believe that those fantastic ornaments, colors, or images that we see on macro photos are truly there and are excited to think that nature creates such masterful masterpieces in macroscopic scales.
The first place will be revealed by the jury led by the National Geographic head office and representatives of National Geographic Georgia. The prize is 990 GEL voucher for the purchase of photographic equipment.
American and Georgian art editors will choose the second place. The prize is 850 GEL voucher for photographic equipment.
Also, the photos by the winners will be printed in National Geographic Georgia’s Magazine.
Within the frames of the photo contest, out of 265 shots, only 20 have been selected. Participants had a chance to showcase the best photography and make a statement with a big, bold cover image.
National Geographic photo editors reviewed the shots and offered expert tips for great photography.
