Gachechiladze deserved this reward by making important contributions and actions in favor of deepening of the friendship between France and Georgia. Graduate of several international culinary academies, including Ritz Escoffier of France, Gachechiladze has been participating in “Taste of France” for many years. This event, held every year all over the world, is dedicated to popularizing and promoting French gastronomy. Gachechiladze has also been hosting courses of the French language in “Culinarium,” devoted to cooking and organized by French Institute of Georgia.
In 2018, under the high patronage of the French Embassy in Georgia, Gachechiladze prepared dinner in “four hands” together with French star Chef Stephane Laruelle at Chiberta and managed to highlight the gastronomic heritage of France and Georgia with emphasis on the close relationship to the land characterizing for both of them.
Created in 1959, the Order of Arts and Literature is an important honorary award.
Georgia and France are among the very few countries to see their gastronomy tradition protected by UNESCO.
