Statue dedicated to the man who rescued a dog in Kobuleti

A few days ago, a 51-year-old man entered the Black sea in stormy weather in Kobuleti to rescue a dog and died.

The event was widely publicized and a social network campaign was launched for Avtandil Tskhvediani. A petition has been created to dedicate a statue to Tskhvediani and signed by various people and Kobuleti City Hall responded.

"It is a very good initiative and we are eager to help the authors of this idea. In the nearest future we will meet with the authors of the petition and discuss all the details," they said.

The incident occurred in Kobuleti on August 5. A local resident went into the sea to rescue a dog. Due to strong waves, he could not get back out of the water. Despite the rescue measures, the man could not be saved.



Nini Karseladze and Marika Tkhelidze to participate in State Budget-funded Concert in Borjomi

Levan Lipartia, the mayor of Borjomi, says that Nini Karseladze and Marika Tkhelidze were selected for the state budget-funded concert dedicated to annual town celebration – Borjomoba 2019.

The singers are supporters of the ruling party, but the mayor says this factor has not been taken into consideration at all. He also noted that the authorities' sympathy has nothing to do with Marika Tkhelidze and Nini Karseladze’s invitation.

Gigi Adamashvili, Dato Gomarteli and Zviad Bolkvadze will participate in "Borjomioba 2019", which will be held on August 17, with Nini Karseladze and Marika Tkhelidze. In total, the funding enviages 14350 GEL.

This is not the first time when Nini Karseladze has taken part in activities planned by municipalities. Another case took place during the concert celebration in Akhalsopeli village in Kvareli municipality.
