Black sea wine festival 2019 kicks off today

Georgian Wine Foundation presents the International Black Sea Wine Festival. Up to a hundred wine producers who will represent hundreds of species of Georgian wine and Georgian vodka (Chacha) will be presented.

Festival will take place from August 16 to August 18 in Batumi Old Boulevard. Ethno culinary exhibition will also take place within the frames of the event. Visitors can taste Georgian cheese, dry fruits, and Georgia snack “Churchkhela.”

The organizers of the event have decided to provide a chance to be able to see and learn how traditional dishes are prepared, and one can join the Master class of traditional dishes.

Exhibition of Georgian handicrafts, products by 40 producers (Enamel, clay, felt products) and modern artworks by 30 modern Georgian painters will be presented as well.

Participating producers include Winery St George, Qvevri Wine Cellar, Tisana, Asadeli, Kindzmarauli Mariani, Bediseuli, Burji, Balavari, Wine Well, Marbalo, Obene, Bate’s Cellar, Topanich Cellar, Kapcala Distilling, Askaneli Brothers, Chateau Nekresi, Winery 1895, etc.

The Georgian Wine Foundation presents a grand concert of Georgian groups. This Saturday, August 17, Niaz Diasamidze/33a, Frani & Reggaeon concert will also take place on the tennis courts of Batumi.

The International Black Sea Wine Festival is distinguished from other planned events, since it gives tourists, traveling in Batumi, the opportunity to get acquainted with the samples of the Georgian art and the Georgian wine from the “first hand” and to meet with producers.

Georgia is one of the oldest wine regions in the world. Archaeological excavations have uncovered that vine was first cultivated in at least 6000-8000 BC.
