Creative Cluster Ecosystem Development in Georgia

The conference of the project “Reinventing Support Mechanisms for the Development of Creative Cluster Ecosystem in Georgia” is organized by Creative Georgia. It will explore specific challenges, needs, and potential of creative spaces, hubs, and clusters in Georgia.
The conference will take place on October 18 at Fabrika Tbilisi Conference Space – Jungle Room.
The project is based on strategic directions of "Cultural Strategy 2025" (approved by the government of Georgia on 1st of July, 2016), particularly in the sixth priority: "Creative industries represent an important source for job creation, economic growth, and innovation and it is a competitive sphere of activity.”
It is noteworthy that the project is implemented within the EU/Unesco Expert Facility on the Governance of Culture in Developing Countries: Support for new regulatory frameworks to strengthen the cultural and creative industries and promote South-South cooperation program and it aims to support the project in 12 countries.
Project implementation involves UNESCO International and local experts in the direction of Culture Policy - Lydia Varbanova (Bulgaria) and Nikoloz Nadirashvili (Georgia).
In order to better understand the topics and the title of the conference, it is important to have and understand the definitions.
‘Clusters’ describe a group of related or mutually dependent businesses and resources that are grouped together in a neighborhood or part of a city.
‘Hubs’ envisage very specific location, usually a building or group of buildings that provides affordable workspace, support, and exhibition or sales space for creative entrepreneurs.
Creative Georgia is a LEPL committed to developing creative industries in Georgia.
Creative Georgia aim for raising awareness about Creative Industries, building capacity of creative entrepreneurs through training programs, seminars and other activities, establishing networking platforms, creating funding opportunities and spreading information about existing funding opportunities, supporting export of creative goods and in general, internationalization of sector and supporting the development of research activities in the creative industries sector.
Creative Georgia works within various directions, including 2 major ones: Creative Europe Desk and Creative Industries Development Direction.
