Tbilisi International Animation Festival

Tbilisi International Animation Festival (TIAF) will be taking place for the second time in Georgia on November 2-5, 2019.
The festival aims to showcase international and local achievements in contemporary animation and other forms of audio/visual art. The popularization of the animation field and the promotion of its development in Georgia is one of the main goals of the festival. The main target audience of the festival is teenagers and young people.
The event includes film screenings, workshops, meetings with film authors, exhibitions and other interesting evenings.
The festival will feature a competition of animated films from all over the world, thematic programs, best films of the guest festivals, etc. The films competing in the festival feature the following categories: Feature films, Short films, VR Content, TV series, Game Related Content, etc.
In each competition, there is 1 winner for each award. In each competition, the honorable mentions can be attributed to more than 1 film.
This year’s venue is located on Pekini Avenue 40 - Cinema of the National Archives.
The Festival is organized by the Georgian Animation Laboratory (AnimaLab), an organization promoting Animation Art and Industry Development Culture through the Caucasus region and internationally.
The official languages of TIAF are Georgian and English.
TIAF is an educational and entertaining International event, dedicated to creating awareness of, and appreciation for, animation, video games, and related popular Art Forms, primarily through the presentation of events that celebrate the historic and ongoing contribution of animation art and culture.
The festival was established and presented its first edition in 2018.
TIAF is an event where animated film meets other media and arts, aiming to present, disseminate, experiment and discuss ideas, crossing over new artistic approaches and forms, on which animated film is the narrative and aesthetic expression.
