Georgia-Japan business forum brings together representatives of more than 130 Georgian and Japanese companies

The Georgia-Japan business forum is being held in Tbilisi with representatives of more than 100 Georgian and more than 30 Japanese companies.
Among the participating companies are companies interested in Georgia's investment potential - TOYOTA, MITSUBISHI, TEPCO, IT OCHU and others.
At the forum, the Georgian side provided Japanese companies with information on business opportunities and risk management in Georgia. The talks focused on Japan's support and future plans, which should boost business ties between the two countries.
The business forum was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Nikoloz Alavidze, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Alexander Khvtisiashvili and Japanese Ambassador to Georgia H.E. Tadaharu Uehara.
The Business Forum is the fifth event organized by Georgian and Japanese companies and business circles.
On the forum, the Georgian side provided Japanese companies with information on business opportunities and risk management in Georgia, and participants also had the opportunity to learn about the Japanese side's current support and future plans to deepen business ties between the two countries.
The forum is the fifth event that has been attended by Georgian and Japanese companies and business circles in recent years and is the logical continuation of the Forum in Tokyo in March 2019.
Nikoloz Alavidze welcomed participants and talked about the importance of the event.
“We can offer Japanese companies one of the most favorable business and tax environments in the world, a steadily growing economy, the opportunity to apply free trade agreements with the European Union, Turkey, Ukraine and other countries, as well as opportunities offered by the Georgian government to international investors,” noted Alavidze.
Tadaharu Uehara, emphasized that more Japanese companies participated in this year's business forum than before. He said it was proof that Japanese companies were interested in Georgia's business opportunities.
“I hope that more Japanese companies will enter the Georgian market and this will create more jobs. This will also help Georgian companies increase productivity and quality, making them more competitive than other international companies,” - the Japanese Ambassador to Georgia added.
Mikheil Khidureli, Head of LEPL Agency Enterprise in Georgia presented the investment opportunities at the forum and Giorgi Danelia, Deputy Director General of the Co-Investment Fund. There was also a focus on business opportunities and risk management in Georgia.
The business forum ended with B2B meetings, during which Georgian and Japanese business circles discussed opportunities for future collaboration with potential partners.
