Within the frames of the UK Season in Georgia 2019, on November 27, Anna Meredith performed her album entitled Varmints with her band and the Tbilisi Youth Orchestra. This electronic album was released in Georgia on November 27th at Marjanishvili Theatre.

The Tbilisi program was conducted and moderated by Simon Dobson. Arrangements have been prepared by Jack Ross, Sam Wilson, Tom Kelly & Anna Meredith.

Varmints is the debut studio album by the British composer and electronic musician, released on Moshi Moshi. Released to widespread critical acclaim, the album has won the Scottish Album of the Year Award.

Anna Meredith is a British composer and performer of electronic and acoustic music. She is a former composer-in-residence with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and former PRS/RPS Composer in the House with Sinfonia ViVA.

Called "one of the most innovative voices in British music", Anna Meredith is a composer and producer of various genres whose work combines contemporary classics, art pop, electronic music, and experimental rock.

The newly established Tbilisi Youth Orchestra brings together young musicians aged 15 to 28 years. For an orchestra that works mainly on classical repertoire, this is the first experience of touching electronic music. The Tbilisi Youth Orchestra aims to create a successful team focused on the implementation and maintenance of a high European standard, which in the future will create a solid personnel base for Georgian professional orchestras.

The UK Season in Georgia is a carefully curated program of more than 60 events over three months. The season is running from September to December 2019 and includes events in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi and other locations across Georgia.

Young people are at the heart of the Season. The Season Youth Board has guided programming so that the Season reflects the interests of young people in Georgia. 2019 is the centenary of British-Georgian diplomatic relations.

The Season is funded by the British Council and the British Embassy working closely with a small group of founder sponsors including Adjara Group, Bank of Georgia, BP, Georgia Capital, and Wissol.
