Final Concert of Baroque Festival 2019

The final concert of the Tbilisi Baroque Festival was held on December 13. The musicians performed the music Antonio Vivaldi and Giovanni Benedetto Platt.
The host and organizer of the Tbilisi Baroque Festival are the Tbilisi State Chamber Orchestra - Georgian Sinfonietta.
Tbilisi State Chamber Orchestra – Georgian Sinfonietta, Sergio Azzolini (Bassoon), Ai Ikeda (Bassoon), Balazs Mate (Cello), Pablo Zapico (Theorbo & Baroque guitar) and Anna Kurdovanidze (harpsichord & positive organ) were among the musicians at the concert.
Azzolini is an Italian bassoonist and music conductor. Azzolini has won awards at the Prague Spring, C.M. von Weber Competition and ARD Munich" He has recorded many productions of chamber music and soloistic performances for EMI records, Naive, Sony and Chandos.
He is working on recording all 39 of Vivaldi's bassoon concertos and has recorded four volumes of Vivaldi's bassoon concertos for the Vivaldi Edition of the French recording company Naive playing with ensembles L'Aura Soave Cremona and L'Onda Armonica. He has been a music professor at Hochschule in Stuttgart, and since 1998, he is a professor of bassoon and chamber music at the Hochschule fur Musik in Basel. He is also regularly giving masterclasses in Europe and the world.
Five years ago he discovered the music of Giovanni Benedetto Platt in the Prague Library. As the musician pointed out, this manuscript had been kept on its shelf for years, and only this year he decided to share the music with Georgian listeners.
This year the festival marks its 5th anniversary. Within the framework of the celebration, many concerts and music-choreographic or puppet performances were held.
From November 13 to December 13 Tbilisi Baroque Festival 2019 presented various concerts, performances, meetings with celebrities with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Tbilisi State Chamber Orchestra Georgian Sinfonietta. The Festival concerts were held at the Rustaveli Theatre Small Stage (November 13, 18, 19, 26 and December 1, 3, 7, 13) and at the Royal District Theatre (November 24, 25).
