EUGBC - Annual Members’ Meeting

On January 24, members of the EU-Georgia Business Council (EUGBC) held an annual members’ meeting at the Tbilisi Marriott Hotel.

Representatives of different business sectors held discussions with Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Business Environment and Sustainable Development of the country. The event was also attended by BP New Georgia Director Ann Davis.

Nadareishvili noted that the existence of business platforms such as EU-Georgia Business Council, who work successfully on European and Georgian business development is crucial. He also mentioned that more than 800 Georgian companies exporting to the EU, noting that this is a significant achievement.

The participants got acquainted with the plan of the EU-Georgia Business Council, which aims to further support Georgian and foreign companies and deepen their trade relations.

The meeting aimed to elect a new chairperson of the board, discuss 2019 activities of the council and present a new Action plan for the year 2020, which created high interest among the companies and suggestions were made to work on joint projects and ideas.

New members of EUGBC introduced their companies. The list of new members includes Mira Hotels, which operates a brand Hotel River Side Tbilisi which is located in the historical, commercial and architectural center of Tbilisi.

EUBGC is a non-profit association founded by Georgian and European companies in 2006 in Brussels. Since September 2013, EUGBC also operates a representative office in Tbilisi. The objective of the EUGBC is to encourage investment and trade between the European Union and Georgia.

EUGBC has been especially active during the last years, organizing a series of trade seminars, publications, and exhibitions, as well as high-level meetings with senior officials of the Georgian government as well as the EU institutions.
