“I believe that, in general, no matter what kind of sharp ques¬tions are asked between stra¬tegic partners, we are always ready to answer them. Both in and outside of Georgia, no mat¬ter where questions are asked regarding the development of the country, internal orienta¬tion and strategic partnership between the two countries.”
Prime Minister Gakharia said that Georgia’s Euroatlantic interests and developments are irreversible and all questions will soon be answered:
“Georgia’s Euroatlantic in¬terests and developments are irreversible. It is plausible that our colleagues have some ques¬tions but we have never hesi¬tated to answer sharp critics. All questions will soon be answered calmly.”
The most recent critical as¬sessment of Georgia’s ruling party and its leader Bidzina Ivanishvili came from Repub¬lican U.S representative Pete Olson, who gave a speech at congress and called on Georgian Government to stop corruption and Russian influence in the country. He compared Ivan-ishvili to a fictional character from Sesame Street, Oscar The Grouch, who lives in a garbage can and collects useless items.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze condemns U.S ongressman’s criticism manner
The ruling party ‘Georgian Dream’ Secretary-General and the Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, stated that the tone and statements of U.S congress¬men critics are unacceptable and strategic partners should not speak this way to a friendly country, adding that these critics towards the Georgian Dream were far beyond friendly relations.
“The statements we have listened to are far beyond any kind of friendly relations. You are aware that America is our strategic partner country, ac¬cordingly, strategic partner lawmakers should not speak this way to a friendly country.”
Kaladze also talked about Frontera Resources, U.S oil and gas exploration, and production company.
“I remember from my min¬istry days that the problem existed back then as well, and I am aware of the issue. We launched an investigation into international arbitrage, and they know it very well that they are going to lose this case so they strengthened their lob¬bying.”
According to him, the inter¬ests of Georgia will be protected.
