‘Noble Partner 2020’ official opens today, September 7

Today, on September 7, ‘Noble Partner 2020' will be officially opened in Vaziani. According to official information, Georgia hosts the Noble Partner for the fifth time already, and in the event, Georgia, USA, the UK, Poland, and France will be taking part. In total, 2700 people will participate in Noble Partner 2020.
To participate in the Noble Partner 2020, US military equipment entered the Poti port via the Ocean Freedom ship from the Norfolk terminal. The military equipment came from Virginia and came to Georgia with the help of Romania.
Yesterday, on Sunday, in the center of Gori, American armored vehicles marched through the streets of Gori.Georgia is hosting the multinational exercise "Noble Partner 2020" from September 7-18, which is being held in Georgia for the fifth time. International training is a clear example of strategic partnership and growing cooperation between Georgia and the United States.
In order to participate in the exercise, American military equipment has been brought to Georgia by sea - Striker armored combat vehicles, Hummer armored vehicles and logistical support vehicles and artillery. Also, according to official information, 9 military convoys equipped with American military equipment will travel on the Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze highway for an hour and a half on September 6 and 8, due to which the traffic on the highway will be restricted during the day.
This important international exercise aims to increase interoperability between Georgia and its Western partners and to strengthen security in the Black Sea region. The multinational exercise is complex and its scenario envisages command-staff and field exercises with combat shooting, as well as the interaction of maneuvering and combat support elements in stability, defense and offensive operations.
Last week, on September 1, in the framework of the Noble Partner 2020, a total of 200 paratroopers of the U.S. Army 173rd Airborne Brigade parachuted into Vaziani Training Area.
Ambassador of the USA to Georgia Kelly Degnan joined Minister of Defense of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili, NATO LANDCOM Commander Lieutenant General Roger Cloutier, and U.S. Defense Attache to Georgia COL Stephanie Bagley to view the drop and welcome the paratroopers to Georgia.
During the event, the Ambassador and other representatives talked about the importance of the relations between Georgia and its western partners and ongoing influence of Russian occupation to the everyday lives of Georgians.
