"Lelo for Georgia" party calls on the Georgian authorities to clearly assess the acts committed by the Russian armed forces as war crimes and crimes against humanity.

As mentioned in the statement released by the party, "Lelo" also calls on the authorities to timely review and accept the resolution submitted by "Lelo" regarding war crimes.

"The massive missile attack by the Russian Federation on the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine reminds the whole world once again that the Russian Federation is a terrorist state that openly commits terrorist acts on the territory of other sovereign states. The purpose of today's terrorist attack by Putin's Russia is to sow fear among Ukrainians. But the world sees that Ukraine and Ukrainians are getting stronger every day.

Since Russia's unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the armed forces of the Russian Federation have been committing war crimes and crimes against humanity, with possible signs of genocide.

Today, when the civilized world is raising its voice against the war crimes committed by Putin's terrorist regime, the ruling team of Georgia still prefers essential silence. The parliamentary team of "Georgian Dream" has not yet reviewed the draft resolution submitted by "Lelo" months ago, which assesses the actions of the armed forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine as a war crime and a crime against humanity.

Despite direct calls from the international community, including US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, for Georgia to join a similar legal and political assessment, the Georgian authorities have made no effort to protect our partner Ukraine or Georgia's national interests. This reminds us once again that the spirit, interests, and rhetoric of the Georgian government are in complete harmony with the interests and policies of the Putin regime, and it has nothing to do with the geopolitical choices of the Georgian population.

"Lelo for Georgia" calls on the Georgian authorities to clearly assess the acts committed by the Russian armed forces as war crimes and crimes against humanity. "At the same time, we call on the government to consider and accept the resolution presented by "Lelo" regarding war crimes," the party's statement reads.
