Lasha Khutsishvili meets with Deputy Head of the General Directorate for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement of European Union

In the United States of America, within the framework of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, the Minister of Finance Lasha Khutsishvili met with the Deputy Head of the General Directorate for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement of the European Union, Katarina Mathernova. The Ministry of Finance disseminates information about this.
According to their information, Deputy Ministers Ekaterine Guntsadze and Mirza Gelashvili attended the meeting. The Minister of Finance emphasized the importance of EU assistance programs to Georgia. At the meeting, attention was focused on the issues included in the cooperation agenda between Georgia and the European Union, among them, the conversation touched on the implementation of the 12 recommendations of the European Commission.
Lasha Khutsishil informed the Deputy Head of the General Directorate for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement of the European Union about the macro-economic parameters of the country for 2022-2023 and noted the positive dynamics that the country has in the direction of economic growth despite the difficult situation in the region
"The parties discussed the challenges in the region, the impact of Russia's military aggression in Ukraine on both regional and world economies. One of the topics of discussion was issues related to energy efficiency policy and the possibility of making new investments in this direction in both the public and private sectors.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue active cooperation on strengthening the support of the European Union in the process of structural and economic reforms in the country," the information reads.
