President Zourabichvili discusses Georgia's EU perspective at meeting with European Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi

The President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili met with the European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi, the resident's administration press office released information. The meeting was held in the Orbeliani palace.
The European perspective of Georgia, the issue of granting the candidate status and the process of fulfilling 12 recommendations of the European Commission were discussed by the President of Georgia during the meeting with the European Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi.
The importance of overcoming depolarization was emphasized while talking about the European perspective of Georgia:
"The purpose of coming to Georgia today is to help Georgia in the process of integration of Georgia into the European Union, in this direction we want to move forward with you," said the European Commissioner.
As reported in the information, Olivér Várhelyi once again expressed his readiness to help the European Union in everything that would contribute to its integration into the European Union.
It is also said in the press release that during the meeting they also talked about the war in Ukraine and the security environment created in the region, the security of the Black Sea, and its important role in connecting Europe and Asia.
The conversation also touched on the potential that the region and Georgia have in terms of developing infrastructural, energy and transport corridors connecting Europe.
