Chargés d'affaires of Ukraine summoned by MFA of Georgia to clarify his recent statement

The chargés d'affaires of Ukraine, Andrei Kasyanov was summoned by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia regarding his statement on the possible evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from Georgia in case of resumption of direct flights between Georgia and Russia.
After the meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs press center said that Andrey Kasyanov was asked to clarify his recent statements.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the First Deputy Minister expressed his concern regarding the statement, calling it 'groundless' and said it damages the relations between the two countries.
"At the meeting, the parties discussed the current issues of bilateral relations between Georgia and Ukraine, and the Georgian side once again noted Georgia's support and solidarity with Ukraine.
The Ukrainian side expressed its gratitude to Georgia for both political support and important humanitarian aid provided during the war. Among them, gratitude was expressed from the side of Ukraine regarding the reception of Ukrainian refugees. It was noted that Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine are grateful to the Georgian side for receiving Ukrainian citizens in Georgia and for their assistance, and they do not see any danger regarding the presence of Ukrainian citizens in Georgia," the information reads.
