Minister of Justice of Georgia Holds Farewell Meeting with UNICEF Representative Ghassan Khalil
The Minister of Justice of Georgia held a farewell meeting with the representative of the United Nations Children's Fund in Georgia, Ghassan Khalil. Rati Bregadze thanked Khalil for their fruitful cooperation and expressed hope that the partnership between the Ministry of Justice and UNICEF would continue in the future.
The Minister of Justice noted that the projects implemented with the support of UNICEF primarily serve to protect the best interests of the child and their rights. For the Ministry of Justice, cooperation with UNICEF in this field has been very fruitful.
Rati Bregadze emphasized areas of partnership, such as the reform of the juvenile justice system, elimination of violence against children and expansion of social programs for them, juvenile rehabilitation and resocialization, and crime prevention projects. The minister also emphasized the importance of training professionals involved in mediation and diversion processes.
The Minister of Justice wished the head of the mission success in their future work.
Public Defender Levan Ioseliani Emphasizes Importance of Investigative Commission to Address Questions on Judges
Public defender Levan Ioseliani stated that it is important to clarify the issue related to judges in the parliament, and he discussed it with journalists. He noted that society deserves to have the questions accumulated answered within the investigative commission.
"You know that one of the important issues is the issue related to judges, and I also believe that clarifying this issue in the parliament is important. Among them, there is this procedural war going on between the ruling party and the opposition, but ultimately, I think the society deserves to have their questions addressed within the framework of the investigative commission," he said.
