EU Monitoring Mission Condemns Killing of Georgian Citizen by Russian Occupying Forces

The European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM) has released a statement concerning an incident that occurred at the breakaway region's South Ossetian Administrative Boundary Line, leading to the tragic loss of a Georgian citizen's life. The statement starts by confirming the information and extending condolences to the deceased person's family and loved ones.
EUMM strongly condemns the use of force in any form and emphasizes deep concern over the lethal shooting incident. The EU Monitoring Mission stresses the importance of preventing such incidents to uphold peace, security, and stability in the region.
The statement calls on all involved parties to exercise restraint and take necessary measures to prevent any further escalation. It highlights the EUMM's active monitoring of the situation and its efforts to reduce tensions. Additionally, it mentions the utilization of the EUMM-managed Hotline for exchanging information related to the shooting incident.
